This program aims to recruit individuals who have reached the summit in their respective fields in burgeoning sectors around the world. The GTI's primary goal is to strengthen Australia's technology and inventive industries, with the ultimate goal of increasing job possibilities for the Australian workforce over time. The following are the eligibility requirements for the Global Talent Visa Program:

Candidates must have extraordinary skills in one of the ten identified sectors to be eligible for the Global Talent Visa Program:

  • Infrastructure and Tourism

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Talent Requirements:

  1. Display internationally acknowledged outstanding achievements in their industry.
  2. Demonstrate current domain expertise.
  3. Demonstrate their ability to constructively contribute to the Australian community.
  4. Demonstrate your capacity to get acceptable employment in your specialist field in Australia.
  5. Have a nominator who is either a recognized Australian organization in the same sector or an Australian individual (citizen or permanent resident) with expertise in the same area.

Qualifications and earnings Criteria:

Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Hold a job offer with a salary of more than $153,600 per year.
  • Currently employed and earning more than $153,600 per year.
  • As a high-performing student, I recently finished with a PhD in one of the priority fields.

Applicants must demonstrate a considerable track record of professional accomplishments, which may include patents, senior responsibilities, awards, memberships in professional groups, research publications, and other relevant associations.

The program also accepts submissions from outstanding PhD students who have achieved global recognition in the required fields.

Nominator Requirements:

As previously indicated, applicants must be suggested by a recognized individual or group in the same sector. The applicant's achievements and worldwide status must be supported by the nominator, who must be an Australian citizen, Permanent Resident, qualified NZ citizen, or an Australian organization. The submission should also explain how the candidate plans to contribute to the Australian community, find work, and settle in the country. It should be noted that the nominator is not required to hire the applicant.

Procedure for Applying:

Step 1: Send in your Expression of Interest (EOI).
Prospective applicants should fill out the Global Talent contact form to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). This EOI should include the papers required to demonstrate eligibility.

Step 2: Apply for the Visa

Successful applicants will be assigned a unique identity to use when applying for the Subclass 858 visa. The health and character conditions for the visa application must be met. The department will finalize the application once it has been examined and all conditions have been met. If approved, the Subclass 858 visa lets the applicant to reside and work continuously in Australia.

Processing Time:

The processing period for the GTI Visa varies depending on specific circumstances such as comprehensive application submission, fast responses to information requests, relevant checks, and availability of program places.

Family Inclusion:

Applicants may include family members in their applications before a final decision is made. If the applicant is under the age of 18, they may include a parent and members of that parent's family unit. All family members who are included to the application must meet certain health and character requirements.
