Introduction

Australia’s points-based immigration system is designed to evaluate skilled workers who wish to migrate based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and English proficiency. In this blog, we’ll walk you through each component of the system and provide tips on how to maximize your score.

How the Points System Works

Applicants must score at least 65 points to be eligible for skilled visas like Subclass 189, 190, and 491. The points are awarded across several categories:

    • 40–44 years: 15 points
  2. English Language Proficiency (Maximum: 20 Points)
    • Superior English (IELTS 8 or equivalent): 20 points
    • Proficient English (IELTS 7 or equivalent): 10 points
